Dope to the fresh
10.27.04 (1:42 pm)   [edit]

My friend Mike just enlightened me by sending me an old training video from Wendy's.

Check it:

You'll need quicktime and a fast connection!

First Car
10.26.04 (8:28 am)   [edit]

The other day some friends and I were sitting around reminiscing about our first car and it brought back some bitter sweet memories of when I first got my license. The year was 1996 and my parents had just upgraded from a 1970 Chrysler Town & Country Station wagon to a Ford Van. I had just got my license and was all excited. My Dad looked at me and said, "Congratulations" and tossed me the keys to the Chrysler. I was both thrilled and horrified. Thrilled because with the extra seat that faced the opposite way I could fit 8 of my friends. Horrified because the year was 1996 and driving a 26 year old poop brown station wagon, that literally had mushrooms growing in the back because of a leak wasn't exactly the mac daddy car of choice. One cool thing I remember was being able to take corners in the poo mobile at 40 miles an hour and just have the thing rock, a bit like a boat. One not so fond memory was parking blocks from school, partly out of embarassment and partly because the thing was impossible to parallel park. What I wouldn't give to have that sweet thing now!

Hair products
10.22.04 (3:41 pm)   [edit]

Long before hairspray, mousse, or gel there was pomade.
Just ordered myself some of this...

Tis the season
10.21.04 (11:34 am)   [edit]
Well Fall is definitely here. Last week it was pushing 80 and this week it's been in the 50's after a big rain on Monday. The building I work in was an old school house back in the day so it takes all day to heat up and lately my wee little hands are freezing. To bad I can't type in gloves. To officially celebrate fall Jess and I made a trip to the pumpkin patch to snag some of the big orange beauties. There were a lot of young families there with kids in tow who were told not to look at me for some reason...

R.I.P.
10.14.04 (4:15 pm)   [edit]

I just found out today that one of the coolest people I've ever met died in a freak accident. I hadn't seen him since High School but he was an amazing guy, and a good friend to so many people.

Rest in Peace

Hmmm
10.13.04 (5:30 pm)   [edit]

After setting up a blog for this cool thing we're doing with all the college/career age groups in our county called The Median I'm contemplating switching blog hosts. I've learned enough html to make it work and it seems to be more powerful. I'll think about it...

Famous Wife
10.12.04 (6:33 pm)   [edit]
Jess is already making her mark on the nursing world...check her out in the local weekly paper.

Coming Soon
10.11.04 (5:44 pm)   [edit]

Obviously I haven't blogged in quite a while...
It's been quite a bizzare last week and a half but I'll be catching up soon.

Until then satisfy your soul with the latest music to worship God with. He's a dope artist from right here in Humboldt who thankfully refrains from using cheesey lyrics like: river flowing, eagle flying, fill me up, lift you up, and hallelujah, among many others.
