What is Foosh
08.27.04 (1:23 pm)   [edit]

It's always interesting (and sometimes dangerous) to see what you can come up with on a word search. I decided to see how common my nickname was on the ol' world wide web.

The best ones I found were:
A Canadian Clothing Store - it's audio and apparel in one, crazy Canadians!
A Caffeinated Mint? - it's like a cup of coffee that makes your breath smell good
Medical Condition - don't ever foosh yourself
German DJ - hippy hoppy

Comeback
08.25.04 (7:56 am)   [edit]

We had a softball game last night and I was a part of the greatest comeback I've ever seen. Unfortunately I was on the wrong side of the greatest comeback I've ever seen. We were up 11-0 going into the last inning and lost 11-12. You could say my spirits were a little crushed but then again you haven't seen my spirits, have you?!

The dog days of summer
08.23.04 (2:12 pm)   [edit]

Although summer doesn't officially end until September 21st today marked the begining of the end for us. Jess went back to school to start her LVN program and it's raining for the first time in a few months. Typically fall is when we get our nicest weather so we're planning on getting some camping in in the next couple months but the dog days are winding down. We'll be heading down to Sacramento on Labor Day weekend for a wedding so if anyone is in the area and want's to hook up let me know. Happy Monday!

Wonderful!

If trends ever change from the boy band chest shaving, leg waxing days, this man will be a god. Make sure to check out the movie he starred in as a boy. Click on the pic for more of the "hairy man."

Vote?!

I came across this article which poses an interesting question.

Nothin new
08.12.04 (2:57 pm)   [edit]
Not a whole lot going on lately.
I came across this picture which brought back memories of Old Man Ocean, who was this old homeless guy in Kona with these two big dreads that looked like horns. One day we noticed that one of his horn like dreads was gone. Upon questioning Old Man O he told us that he had been having really bad shooting pains in his head and had finally went to the hospital to get it checked out. The doctors or who ever looked at him found that the shooting pains were caused by a nest of centipede's that had taken refuge in the horn like dreads upon his head. There was no option but to cut the dread off. It was a sad day but we all knew the dread would be back.

English Corner
08.11.04 (7:30 am)   [edit]
So a couple weeks ago I was eating at a Chinese buffet with Jess and my little sister Rachel. We got to talking with our waitress a bit who was from China and who spoke decent English. She told us that she spoke the best English of anyone who worked there, in other words nobody speaks it that well. Now on my trips to China, a lot of our relationship building came at places called English Corners. These are places like a tea house or park where Chinese, who were learning English, would come together to practice. So I asked our waitress if anybody at the restaraunt would be interested in coming to an English corner if Jess and I hosted it.
So this weekend we are starting Eureka's first English Corner with 7 Chinese. We're stoked because we will also be learning Chinese!

See you monday...

I won't be blogging for the next few days, going to be hanging out with the in-laws who get in tonight!

Fahrenheit Baloney
08.05.04 (7:36 am)   [edit]

Michael Moore - good filmmaker, even better liar. Check this http://www.davekopel.org/terror/59Deceits.pdf" title="http://www.davekopel.org/terror/59Deceits.pdf" target="_blank"http://www.davekopel.org/terr... out for 59 fabrications of truth from Fahrenheit 9/11.

So what America do you live in? If you live in Michael Moore's America then it's full of liars, cheats, and just all around bad people. If I were a foreigner and watched Michael Moore's supposed documentaries then I wouldn't have a favorable outlook on the U.S. either. With that to say I'm excited for this film to come out.

The old haunt
08.03.04 (7:47 am)   [edit]
This past weekend Jess and myself decided to flee the fogged in coast for fairer weather. We headed inland to my old home of Willow Creek and found a sweet swim spot on the Trinity River. The temp. was about 30 degrees warmer then our place in Eureka.
On our way home we cruised my old neighborhood which brought back memories of what it was like to live in a trailer and also a repressed memory of when I saw bigfoot as a child. Good times...
